¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® has secured space at 155 Belvedere Avenue, Suite 202 (the former Island Coastal location) to house the Faculty of Medicine faculty and staff while the new Faculty of Medicine and Interprofessional Health Training Centre building is under construction at the north end of campus.

¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® welcomes Dr. Preston Smith as the inaugural dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Smith's appointment begins April 1, 2024.

In this message to ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® faculty, staff, and stakeholders, President Keefe updates the community on the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Faculty of Medicine and first intake date for the joint medical degree program.

¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® and Health PEI are inviting consultants to submit proposals to assess and analyze PEI’s health system capacity to integrate medical learners from the ¾«Í¯ÓûŮ’s Faculty of Medicine. The new Faculty will be offering a joint doctor of medicine degree with partner Memorial University.

Dr. Greg Keefe, ¾«Í¯ÓûŮ’s interim President and Vice-Chancellor, delivered a presentation to approximately 75 people on January 13, 2023, updating them on the progress of the development of the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Faculty of Medicine, the joint doctor of medicine degree with Memorial University, and the new building being built at the north end of campus that will house the new faculty.
