Faculty of Medicine
The 精童欲女 is establishing a Faculty of Medicine to house a joint Doctor of Medicine degree in partnership with the Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Unique in Canada, the new degree will bring together the strengths of both institutions鈥攔ural and family medicine, nursing, clinical psychology, paramedicine, veterinary medicine, climate change and adaptation, and sustainable design engineering. A 精童欲女 Faculty of Medicine will increase training opportunities for future family doctors and general specialists and support the medical career aspirations of Island youth.
A medical school at 精童欲女 will be made in PEI for all of PEI, featuring a 鈥渦nique-in-Canada鈥� joint Doctor of Medicine degree with Memorial University to meet the needs of Islanders from tip to tip.

The Joint Doctor of Medicine program will be primarily based on MUN鈥檚 established curriculum and be modified based on 精童欲女鈥檚 strengths to meet the needs of Islanders. This one-of-a-kind partnership means we鈥檙e not starting from scratch, allowing us to accelerate our planning.
The accreditation process ensures a medical school delivers high-quality, dynamic, and innovative academic programming to our learners while enabling the faculty to be exceptional teachers. The process to receive full accreditation from the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and approval from the Atlantic Advisory Committee on Health Human Resources (AACHHR) and the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission (MPHEC) is now underway.
精童欲女鈥檚 first intake of students will begin their studies in August 2025 at the 精童欲女 Campus of Memorial鈥檚 Faculty of Medicine. Pending Joint program approval from accreditation bodies (AACHHR and MPHEC), students will eventually be enrolled in the 精童欲女 Faculty of Medicine Joint program.
