Dr. Wendy Rodgers (left), president and vice-chancellor of ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®, and Dr. Robert Summerby-Murray, chair of the Association of Atlantic Universities (right), congratulate Dr. Jo-Ann MacDonald, professor in the Faculty of Nursing at ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®, on winning the AAU’s 2024 Anne Marie MacKinnon Educational Leadership Award.

Dr. Jo-Ann MacDonald, a professor in the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Faculty of Nursing, was presented with the Association of Atlantic Universities’ (AAU) 2024 Anne Marie MacKinnon Educational Leadership Award at the AAU’s fall meeting held at ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® on September 19.

 

Chris Vessey

Chris Vessey is a Systems Administrator, Laboratory Instructor, and a Sessional Instructor in the School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®. Older than dirt itself, he’s been around ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® in a teaching capacity since 2000, but also had a stint from 1990 to 1995 as a User Services Support Technician in what is now called ITSS.

Dr. Mike MacLellan, Associate Professor for ¾«Í¯ÓûŮ’s Kinesiology program, joined the Department of Applied Human Sciences in 2018. The main goal of his teaching approach is to develop innovative leaders who will make meaningful contributions to the community following graduation.

| Profile, Success Story

As a Laboratory Technician in both Engineering and Physics, Megan supports student learning through instruction and supervision of engineering science and physics activities in laboratory settings. She provides support to faculty with the design and set-up of lab activities, and she also maintains the equipment used in teaching laboratories and organizes outreach activities. 

Dr. Derek Lawther
| Faculty, Success Story

Dr. Derek Lawther is one of the pillars of teaching in ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®'s Department of Physics and the undergraduate Science programs. He is a long standing member in Physics, and a major portion of his teaching is directed towards life sciences students in courses such as Physics for Life Sciences I and II, and Physics of the Human Body.
