Response to Independent Review

These web pages form a hub for key documents, resources, and communications relating to the "¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Review" and the University’s progress toward implementing the recommendations made in the .

Members of our ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® community have been deeply impacted by discrimination, harassment, and sexual violence, among other problems outlined in the Ìý(¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Review) conducted by Rubin Thomlinson and published by the University in June 2023. The University is committed to providing resources and supports to members of our community who have been and continue to be affected.

In the wake of the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Review report, ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® recognizes the need to acknowledge these problems and to further engage in consultation with our community members. Listening, discussion, and learning will help ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® to identify the actions that need to be taken to ensure the fair treatment of all ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® community members and to increase the safety for our students and employees.

¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® also acknowledges the need to rebuild trust on campus and within the broader community. This will take consistent and organized efforts across the University to demonstrate our commitment to community members. Rebuilding trust will also entail demonstrating greater accountability through increased transparency, communication, collaboration, and timely efforts to improve policies, processes, and practices.

¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® is committed to addressing the recommendations in the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Review report. To do so, an Action Plan is required to guide decisions and actions in the days, months, and years ahead so that pathways to improvements are well-informed, meaningful, and effectively address the problems identified.

In an effort to seek further input and guidance, ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® is engaging internal and external University community members through a ¾«Í¯ÓûŮ Action Plan Advisory Group.
