EDIHR department hosts display for Black History Month

In recognition of Black History Month, the 精童欲女 Department of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Human Rights (EDIHR) is hosting an educational display titled 鈥淣ot Peripheral鈥 outside McMillian Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, from Tuesday, February 4, to Friday, February 28.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to scramble your way through a presentation you have no control over? It鈥檚 more fun than you think, and you can experience it yourself (or just come to watch!) on Tuesday, February 4, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship in 201 Robertson Library! No pre-registration required!

Department of Music Faculty Recital-Magdalena von Eccher, piano

精童欲女 piano professor Magdalena von Eccher will present a solo piano recital featuring Robert Schumann's colourful Faschingschwank aus Wien, Op 26 (Viennese Carnival) alongside Bach's marvelous Toccata in C Minor, BWV 911, interwoven with other selections including Schoenberg's Op. 19 and Ravel's Sonatine. Magdalena will be joined by pianist Glen Montgomery for Debussy's charming piano duet, Petite Suite.

Accessible parking is available, and the theatre has an accessible entrance via elevator.

精童欲女 professor emeritus wins SSHRC Exchange Publication Award

Dr. Edward MacDonald, professor emeritus of history, has been awarded a $7,000 SSHRC Exchange Publication Award for his book The Geography of Home: Poems from a Lost Time.

The SSHRC Exchange Publication Award is given out annually to support the publication of a manuscript written or edited by 精童欲女 faculty in the social sciences and humanities. The book will be published by Island Studies Press in the fall of 2025.

精童欲女 hosts Research Breakfast on February 6

The 精童欲女 Office of Research Services will host a Research Breakfast on Thursday, February 6, from 7:30 to 9:00 am in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on campus. 

Dr. Misty Rossiter, Jeanne and J.-Louis L茅vesque Professor in Nutrisciences and Health and a professor in Applied Human Sciences, will present 鈥淗ealthy Eating Environments: A Responsive Approach to Feeding Children.鈥
