Business Analyst - Information Technology Systems and Services
$89,422 to $99,147 per annum
ASAP – April 30, 2026 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding, and departmental requirements)
Project Business Analysts provide ongoing business analysis in support of ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® IT strategic objectives. This position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to implement and enhance the university's systems and related processes by analyzing requirements, understanding current processes, and championing the deployment of Microsoft M365 solutions for use by students’, staff, and faculty.
Working as part of the M365 Project Team and reporting to the M365 Project Manager, the Business Analyst will:
- Collaboratively work to establish standards and guidelines for deployment and productization of M365 features
- Educate the end-user community on how to effectively use the M365 platform with specific emphasis on Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
- Support development of ongoing operational support processes & procedures.
- Suggest innovative uses of the M365 platform by investigating its use in higher education and broader communities
The individual will work collaboratively with the ITSS team to ensure solutions are configured, tested, and implemented in a supportable, secure, and sustainable fashion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate in the planning and deployment/adoption of M365 solutions and processes
- Developing prototype M365 solutions and associated procedures for the purpose of enhancing processes, operations, and information flow
- Align solutions to support data storage/retention classification initiatives
- Facilitating and participating in meetings with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to understand and define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals
- Conduct business and technical requirements gathering & analysis to affect continuous improvement of business process
- Meeting milestone dates for major task completion
- Supporting project implementation teams and liaising with operational teams on an ongoing basis
- Reviewing and working with relevant confidential and sensitive data
- Be an organizational change management champion
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, management information systems, or computer science and 5 years related work experience. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
- Experience with business and technical requirements gathering & analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modelling would be an asset
- Experience working with highly confidential materials
- Experience with the implementation of software and / or hardware solutions, systems, or products
- Experience working at a post-secondary educational institution would be considered an asset
- A business analysis or project management certification would be considered an asset. An agreement to obtain a certification post hire is required

Work Conditions
- Minimal physical demands, typical of a position operating within an office environment; periods of extensive sitting and concentrated use of visual senses. Occasional extended times of standing and walking during campus events.
- Intermittent work outside the normal operating hours of the Department may be required.
- Some exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of a position exposed to stress and pressure associated with organizational change.
