The Department of Health Management at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 精童欲女, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in One Health and Infection Prevention at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. Core duties will include teaching in clinical and didactic settings in the DVM program and providing clinical service in the form of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).

The successful candidate will teach DVM students in one or more of the following fields: One health, public health, infectious disease, IPC, and epidemiology, with the position being tailored to their interest and expertise. The candidate will be the AVC IPC officer with support from an IPC technician. We expect the candidate鈥檚 scholarly activity to attract external funding. There is opportunity for collaborative research with clinical faculty and faculty members in the Centre of Veterinary Epidemiological Research which is housed in the department, as well as other departments at AVC and Faculties across 精童欲女.

Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience. Full-time faculty receive a comprehensive fringe benefits package, with benefit details provided at time of offer in accordance with the university鈥檚 collective agreement. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

The AVC is committed to teaching, research and service, and is well prepared to meet the challenges of these areas. The college is fully accredited by the CVMA and AVMA. The AVC is the regional veterinary college for Atlantic Canada and is situated on the country鈥檚 beautiful east coast.  精童欲女 is a small university with ~5,000 undergraduate students (including 275 in the DVM program) and ~500 graduate students, hosts a broad range of faculties, and is opening a new medical school in 2025. The AVC is located on the campus of 精童欲女 in the provincial capital of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI), which is on the unceded land of the Mi鈥檏maq Nation, of the Wabanaki Confederacy, in the traditional district of Epekwitk. Qualifications:

Minimal qualifications are a DVM degree (or equivalent) and a graduate degree. Board eligibility in the American College of Veterinary Preventative Medicine (ACVPM) or other complimentary specialty is desired. For a candidate to be successful in attaining tenure at 精童欲女 a terminal degree (PhD or Diplomate status in a veterinary specialty) is required. The successful candidate must have previous documented experience in veterinary hospital infection prevention and control and biosecurity and have a passion for teaching.
