Five (5) Month Term Position - Applied Communication, Leadership and Culture - Faculty of Arts
The Faculty of Arts invites applications for a five-month term position (1 August 2022 to 31 December 2022) in Applied Communication, Leadership, and Culture. The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will teach ACLC 1060: Putting Arts to Work I (an exploration of the Liberal Arts), ACLC-4060 Putting Arts to Work III, and ARTS-4010 Capstone in Arts. 精童欲女鈥檚 ACLC program has a strong reputation for excellence in undergraduate teaching and we welcome scholars who demonstrate effectiveness in the classroom. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.
The (ACLC) bachelor鈥檚 degree is a new interdisciplinary program designed to connect the communication skills and leadership training of a Liberal Arts education to successful post-graduation employment. The ACLC program is defined by its focus on the transferability of written, oral, and visual communication skills, critical thinking, research capacity, and cultural awareness acquired during a Liberal Arts education to the world beyond academia. Technical skills, work-integrated learning, and career-related mentoring are central components of the program鈥檚 design.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a completed doctoral degree in English, Communications, or a related field of applied studies and a strong record of success in teaching at the undergraduate level. Workplace experience in relevant sectors outside of academia will be considered an asset, as will previous experience teaching courses in ACLC or in programs of a similar nature.
