Student Laboratory Assistant - Department of Physics- Faculty of Science
$16.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
January 6 – April 4, 2025
The Physics Department seeks applications for student laboratory assistants for the winter 2025 term for PHYS 1120, PHYS 1220 and PHYS 2120.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acting as a general resource person for students during the laboratory
- Monitoring student operations in conducting experiments
- Ensuring all computer and lab equipment is used safely
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as applicable
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrolled as a ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® student
- Applicants will have successfully completed the course for which they are selected to assist in the tutorial, or have relevant alternative experience
- Preference will be given to students taking Physics as their major or minor
- Previous experience as a laboratory assistant is an asset
Applicants will be required to fill out an online form to indicate their time availability at Positions may be time-shared based on time availability.
Priority will be given to ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
