What brought you to 精童欲女? Why did you choose to study here? 

I was attracted to 精童欲女 initially because it's a small university with small class sizes and a focus on undergraduate students and programs. I felt that going to 精童欲女 would open many different opportunities and would allow me to remain close to friends and family on the Island at the same time.

What kinds of support have you received during your time here from 精童欲女 students, staff, and faculty members?

I've received support from other 精童欲女 students and professors. Some of my closest friends are people that I met during my first year at 精童欲女. They are the people that I turn to when I'm feeling stressed and need emotional support. When it comes to professors, they are always willing to answer any questions I may have or review a topic that I found particularly difficult. I've gotten the impression that my professors are invested in every student and are willing to support student learning in any way they can.
 

What kinds of opportunities have you experienced because you're studying at 精童欲女?

There are many opportunities to enrich your learning experience if you look for them! I've had the chance to work in a couple of different jobs at 精童欲女. I worked as a residence life advisor with 精童欲女 residence and as a tutor in the math help centre on campus. Both jobs challenged me and helped me to think critically. Learning outside of the classroom during university can be just as important as learning inside the classroom.

What's unique about 精童欲女, and Prince Edward Island, in your experience?

The tight-knit 精童欲女 community is what makes it unique. 精童欲女 is large enough that it would be tough to know every student, but it's small enough so that you often run into other students that you know while walking on campus. 精童欲女's strong sense of community reflects PEI's community atmosphere. Also, the beaches鈥攁 spectacular spot to be on a sunny summer day!

What would you tell a high school student considering 精童欲女鈥檚 School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences programs?

If you enjoy problem-solving, this could be the program for you! Here, you will be able to enjoy small class sizes鈥攅specially in your third and fourth years鈥攁nd get a chance to know your professors as well. There is also the possibility of conducting research alongside a professor in your third or fourth year if that interests you.

What are your general plans after graduation?

After I graduate, I am hoping to find a job in PEI. Mainly, I'm hoping to find a job that involves math modelling鈥攁pplying mathematics to real-world problems to understand them better.
