The Honourable Diane F. Griffin was installed as the tenth Chancellor of the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® during a ceremony held at the University on Friday, April 5. She was unanimously elected to the volunteer position earlier this year by ¾«Í¯ÓûŮ’s Board of Governors.

¾«Í¯ÓûŮ’s Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2023–24 season at the annual ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Panther Celebration—Athletic Awards Gala on Friday, April 5, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who have excelled in sport, the classroom, and the community.

Yukon poet and fiction writer Joanna Lilley will give a public reading as part of an Atlantic Canada tour in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® on Tuesday, April 16, at 7:00 pm.

The Honourable Catherine Callbeck, former Chancellor of the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®, has been named Chancellor Emerita in recognition of her outstanding service to the University from 2018 to 2023.

In the 2024–2025 operating budget, the University is making substantial investments in employees, particularly those involved with providing frontline services to students, staff, and faculty.

Faculty and staff of the biomedical sciences department at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) ladled out generosity and conversation to hundreds of hungry students at the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® (¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®) in February.

Samuel Harding, a third-year Bachelor of Business Administration student at the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ®, has won a prestigious Frank H. Sobey Award for Excellence in Business Studies valued at $45,000.
