IUPAC Global Women鈥檚 Breakfast event to be held at 精童欲女 on February 11

The (IUPAC) Global Women鈥檚 (and Allies) breakfast (GWB) will be held at the Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on February 11, 2025, from 7:00鈥9:00 am.

Held in conjunction with the United Nations Day of Women and Girls in Science, the goal of the breakfast series is to establish an active network of people of all genders to overcome the barriers to gender equality in science. Hosted each year at various institutions across North America, the breakfast brings scientists together to celebrate achievements, build networks, and foster new friendships. The theme of this year鈥檚 event is 鈥淎ccelerating Equity in Science.鈥

Speakers at the 精童欲女 breakfast will include Dr. Kim Johnstone, program director, Natural Products Canada; Krista Affleck, director, Analytical Development, BioVectra Inc.; Joan Turner Adams, project manager, Health Innovation Cluster, Government of Prince Edward Island; and Oliva Van Hul and Elizabeth Meenink (co-presenters), Undergraduate ChemClub executive committee members, 精童欲女.

Also planned is a 鈥渢ie-dye your lab coat鈥 activity. Participants can bring clean lab coats and turn them into colourful garments.
