AVC and Canadian vet schools host first-ever Canadian Veterinary Colleges alumni reception at VMX

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 精童欲女 (精童欲女), joined forces with the four other Canadian veterinary schools in January to host the first-ever Canadian Veterinary College alumni reception at the 2025 Veterinary Meeting and Expo (VMX) in Orlando, Florida.
Held in collaboration with the University of Calgary鈥檚 Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Guelph鈥檚 Ontario Veterinary College, Facult茅 de m茅decine v茅t茅rinaire-Universit茅 de Montr茅al, and University of Saskatchewan鈥檚 Western College of Veterinary Medicine, the reception drew a strong turnout of nearly 200 people. AVC alumni from various graduating classes gathered to share experiences, network, and celebrate their connection to AVC.
The event provided an opportunity for AVC alumni living and working in the United States to reconnect with their classmates and learn about the exciting work their alma mater is doing in the world of veterinary medicine.
鈥淭he alumni community in the United States has been longing for an event like this, and we were thrilled to finally bring it to life,鈥 said Dr. Dominique Griffon, dean of AVC. 鈥淚t was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with our graduates, hear about their achievements, and reinforce the lifelong bond they have with AVC.鈥
VMX, one of the largest and most influential veterinary conferences in the world, provided the perfect backdrop for the event. Attendees had the chance to speak with AVC leadership, learn about the latest developments at the College, and rekindle friendships that began on Prince Edward Island.
The success of this inaugural reception marks the beginning of an ongoing effort to strengthen ties between AVC and its alumni abroad. Plans are already underway to make this an annual tradition, ensuring that AVC graduates have opportunities to stay connected no matter where their careers take them.
AVC extends its heartfelt thanks to all who attended, to Grey Wolf Animal Health for sponsoring the event and to he our friends at the veterinary schools in Canada who contributed to making this milestone event a resounding success. We look forward to seeing even more familiar faces next year!
