Sarah Forsythe and Kyree Thompson named 精童欲女 Panther Athletes of the Week
Every week, 精童欲女 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 精童欲女 Panther Athletes of the Week for January 6鈥�12, 2025, are Sarah Forsythe (women鈥檚 hockey) and Kyree Thompson (men鈥檚 basketball).
Forsythe, a science student from Riverview, New Brunswick, was sensational between the pipes last weekend. The third-year netminder earned wins against the Universit茅 de Moncton Aigles Bleues and Saint Mary鈥檚 University Huskies, allowing just one goal in each contest. She recorded 43 saves and a .956 save percentage between the two games on January 10 and 11.
鈥淪arah was brilliant last weekend,鈥� said head coach Sean Fisher. 鈥淪he tracked pucks well, fought for her ice, and battled incredibly hard on every shot.鈥�
Thompson, a third-year arts student from North Preston, Nova Scotia, was the most consistent player for the Panthers last weekend. Over two games on January 10 and 11, he averaged 17.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 blocks in a split against the Saint Mary's University Huskies.
鈥淜yree put together another solid weekend on the offensive end,鈥� said head coach Darrell Glenn. 鈥淗e really stood out as a player who could be counted on consistently in both games.鈥�
