The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 精童欲女 (精童欲女) is excited to celebrate Dr. Marti Hopson for receiving the Prince Edward Island Veterinary Medical Association (PEIVMA) Veterinary Leadership Award, the highest honour given by the association.

Dr. Hopson was recognized for her extraordinary dedication to the profession, particularly her impactful work in remote communities and her tireless commitment to animal welfare and education. She has devoted her time to teaching and mentoring students at AVC and is one of the coordinators for the Chinook Project, which she helped to initiate in 2006.

鈥淒r. Hopson truly represents what the PEIVMA Veterinary Leadership Award is all about,鈥 said Dr. Dominique Griffon, dean of AVC. 鈥淪he is a wonderful leader in the College and beyond, and we are so happy to see her recognized for her commitment to veterinary medicine.鈥

Dr. Hopson is a clinician in the AVC Community Practice Service, and an adjunct faculty member and lecturer in the Department of Companion Animals at the AVC. She earned her doctor of medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College and completed her small animal internship at the AVC. Prior to her career in veterinary medicine, Dr. Hopson studied music at Concordia University and earned her master鈥檚 degree in music at the University of Victoria.
