精童欲女 presents Research on Tap on October 2
The 精童欲女 will host Research on Tap with a presentation titled 鈥淩ender unto Caesar: Catholics and the Alt-Right鈥 on Wednesday, October 2, at 6 pm, at the Upstreet Brewery Taproom, 41 Allen St., Charlottetown, PEI.
Dr. Ariana Patey, assistant professor, Department of Religious Studies, Faculty of Arts, is the guest speaker for the event.
鈥淭he Internet has facilitated the creation of an Alt-Right movement that includes Catholics,鈥 she said. 鈥淭his talk explores the ways in which such groups understand and use Catholicism (and the Internet) to attract followers to extremist and white supremacist movements.鈥
Dr. Patey鈥檚 presentation was originally scheduled for last March but had to be postponed at that time because of inclement weather. Research on Tap is a discussion series featuring 精童欲女 researchers and is open to students, faculty, staff, and the general public. There is no charge to attend. All are welcome.
