Message from the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Presidential Search Committee
Dear Members of the Campus Community,
I am pleased to update the campus community on the upcoming Fireside Chats with the Finalist Candidates for the ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Presidential Search.
As I have shared before, it is unusual in today’s post-secondary education landscape to offer current students, staff, and faculty the opportunity to meet candidates in an open session. Typically, presidential searches are confidential and closed. However, we recognize that it is important for the campus community to have more engagement in this particular presidential search process. We are grateful that these three excellent candidates are investing their time, placing their faith in us, and are willing to join us for these sessions as well as several small-group meetings (by invitation only) with our various constituents in this open manner.
At the same time, we are committed to protecting the candidates’ privacy as much as possible and lower the risk to their careers and existing organizations. Therefore, these sessions are in-person and limited to current ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® students, staff, and faculty. I ask that campus community members keep all discussions and comments confidential and not share names of the candidates during or after their visits to the University. Recording the fireside chats is strictly prohibited and no recordings will be distributed following the sessions.
All those who wish to attend must pre-register using their ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® credentials through this (). Those who cannot attend in person due to work-from-home arrangements/other accommodations can indicate this in the form and will be sent a Zoom link to watch live.
- Candidate 1, Friday, March 8, 2024, 1:30–2:30 pm, Performing Arts Centre 121S
- Candidate 2, Monday, March 11, 2024, 1:30–2:30 pm, Duffy Science Centre Amphitheatre 135
- Candidate 3, Monday, March 18, 2024, 1:30–2:30 pm, Performing Arts Centre 121S
There will be an anonymous feedback form in place for members of the campus community to provide their input and feedback following the fireside chats and small-group meetings until end-of-day Thursday, March 21, 2024.
I would like to thank members of the campus community in advance for respecting and helping to protect the privacy of our three exceptional finalist candidates and look forward to their upcoming visits. I would like to again thank the members of the Presidential Search Committee for their dedication to this important process.
Sincerely,
Shannon MacDonald, FCA, CPA, ICD.D
Chair, ¾«Í¯ÓûÅ® Board of Governors and Presidential Search Committee
