Background: | This Award was established in April 2011 by students in the 精童欲女 Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Program. It is well recognized that healthy living can lead to better health. Yes, we also recognize that maintaining a successful healthy living strategy is never easy - let alone doing so while managing the added demands of an EMBA program. In fact, new EMBA students are often struck by the enormous challenge to successfully manage their rigorous academic schedule along with their existing personal, family and/or professional commitments. The founders of this Award understand that for a student to adopt, maintain and/or promote a healthy living strategy throughout his or her enrollment in the EMBA program represents a very important accomplishment worth acknowledging. The founders of this Award also understand that leading by example through healthy living is an important personal and community accomplishment. This Award was created to honour and recognize a student in their second year of the 精童欲女 EMBA Program who has made an extra effort to adopt, maintain and/or promote a healthy living strategy, and who in the process, has set an example of leadership in the community. Since the Award's origination, EMBA students and alumni have made a special effort to raise sufficient funds to create an endowed fund. This was achieved in the winter of 2013. It is the sincere aspiration of EMBA cohorts that each year, EMBA students will continue to support and grow this important student led initiative. |
